I have been researching the Jurd Family History for several years. I have created this blog to provide a resource of all the Jurd family graves. The Jurd family began in Australian when the convict Daniel Jurd was transported in 1802 aboard the "Perseus" when he was 15 years old. He had been caught stealing a ham from a shop in London. He eventually married Elizabeth Douglass who was the daughter of two first fleet convicts, and they raised a large family in the Hawkesbury area of Sydney.
